Cycling Update: Tour de France Stage 6
Oh why why why is my least favorite cyclist in the world so mind-blowingly good? It is a torment to me, a torment I tell you.

I'm American. He's Swiss. The Boys are a bit of both. Dispatches from the far side of the Röstigraben. With a little cycling on the side.

Awww... give him a break. He's just trying to make up for the utter injustice that was Australia's exit from the World Cup :-)
Ah comon Trish - this is the guy (if I remember right - J has the memory for these things) that shoed two maybe 6 year old boys away that were standing there all shy and were asking for an autograph in the hotel where we stayed at Alp D'Huez during a Tour de France. Ok - he was eating dinner at that time but comon - he would have made two boys very happy and it would have taken what - 30 seconds?
As small boy would say: Robbie Mc Even? ....bleck...
:-)
Trish, yep I hate to say it but husband is right. He was so mean to those little boys and I've never liked him since. (Especially because other riders like Axel Merxcx did sign autographs) Purely as a cyclist I have enormous respect for his talent - he's a phenominal sprinter and deserves to wear the Green Jersey - but I just don't think he's a very nice man. :-(
I have an Aussie friend here who also though the Australian loss was unjust. (I missed the game, but I'll take her word for it.)
