Switzerland invades Lichtenstein!
According to my Highly Placed Source within the Swiss government:
"the swiss army 'invaded' lichtenstein today. A company of swiss iinfantry (about 170 men) took a wrong turn during a 25 K training march and 'invaded' Lichtenstein. No casualties or prisoners are reported."
Apparantly it will be in the Blick tomorrow. You heard it here first.
(I remember reading that this has happened at least once before, back in the '80s. During that incident the Lichtensteiners gave the Swiss coffee and cookies and sent them on their way.)
UPDATE: I can't find an on-line article anywhere, but the story is on page 6 of the Friday March 2 Blick.

And lo and behold, it's in today's Blick! "It was all so dark there" says one of the soldiers.
Seriously though, they already have Swiss Grenzwache at the border with Austria. So I suppose Liechtenstein is already under Swiss occupation.
Blick lists another incident in 1985 where the Swiss army set fire to some fields and then the Swiss government had to pay a couple million or so in reparations.

Hi Swissmiss, I just found you through Boho-Girl (I just had to click the link called "Swissmiss", of course). It seems that we live quite near from eachother (the world is a small place!).
After almost three years in California, my husband and I (both Swiss) and our daughter (almost 2, born in the US) came back 8 months ago. We are living now at Donnerbühlweg, Länggasse.

I saw the headline but didn't read the article. I figured it had to be an obvious scam or I would have seen it here on X-files. Ooops, X-pat files.
