Let there be darkness

After two years of improvising, or just plain doing without, R and I ordered curtains custom-made for our bedroom in the new apartment. They fit the windows perfectly and are made from a "Verdunklungsmaterial" - extra heavy material designed to block the sun.

The verdict?

We are blinking idiots for not having done this sooner.

OMG, yes! How I miss my black-out cellular blinds! The new house will especially have them in the twins room(s). ;-) Enjoy the dark!

Ahhhhh....

We have dark curtains on our windows, but Calder doesn't like to use them, he LIKES the creeping light in the morning. I think we'd all sleep later if the curtains weren't so transparent in the other rooms, and never closed in ours.

Oh yes! Definitely high on my list for the bedroom in our new rental. And I was thinking hotel type curtains lined with something industrial on the inside for light blocking. And I even have a sketch ready for the person who will make them.

I haven't had curtains since I moved to Germany and always has mine open when I lived in Poland (I have never lived on the ground floor) and wouldn't have it any other way.
