Tour de France Update: Phoenix from the ashes
Floyd Landis may not wear yellow into Paris on Sunday, but he acquited himself like an absolute champion today. Astounding.

I'm American. He's Swiss. The Boys are a bit of both. Dispatches from the far side of the Röstigraben. With a little cycling on the side.

Didn't he though? He's amazing--especially when you know that his hip has all sorts of problems and he's basically doing the tour with one good leg. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he'll win, on the off chance. Thirty seconds isn't much, right?
Landis is a pretty good time-trailer, so he could actually make up the time. Sastre is good but not great - neither of them are Jan Ullrich - and I don't know anything about Pierro. But Cadel Evans lying in fifth place is a world class time-trailer and could vault himself into a very good position.
Saturday will be exciting!
