Not going there
I'm not going to touch this, other than to suggest than an RE who apparantly missed a minimum of six follicles and in all likelihood closer to eight to ten, if the Morrisons are to be believed (and why shouldn't they be), might want to consider never. performing. a follistim. cycle. ever. ever. again. Really. Ever. Again.
And if you're the praying type, for the love of whatever you love, send those babies some blessings.
Oh, and let's not forget them. At least they made it to almost 30 weeks.

Yikes. One's enough for me!!
Okay I just read their blog (and the annoying commenters: "so excited for you" ..."gods will" etc. agh!) and then I just started getting really annoyed and ranting so I stopped because I'm here alone and there isn't anyone around to share my rant with. Why on earth didn't they reduce. That's just selfish and stupid & cruel.
Misschrisc - Actually, I blame the RE. I think the RE has a responsibility to determine the clients' position about reduction BEFORE beginning any treatment. The client is allowed to have her moral position after all. The stupidity is on the part of the RE who blithely assumes everybody will reduce and puts his/her clients in that position in the first place. Had the RE bothered to truly and seriously discuss HOMs and reduction in advance - BEFORE TREATMENT - s/he would have known that given the couples' feelings about reduction, even the four follicles they saw were two many and she needed to be cancelled. Personally, I place blame squarely on the RE and can't help but think this couple was poorly served from the outset. Did you read their story? They were told with four follicles the chances of anything about triplets was "laughable." If that is really the word the RE used that is the most irresponsible careless stupid - um, not to mention untrue - thing I have ever heard in my life and that person should never be allowed to practice again. JMHO.
The Arizon 6 seem to be in a lot better shape, having made it to almost 30 weeks, but still face an uphill battle too.
It seems very irresponsible of the doctor and both stories really shocked me to the core. I don't necessarily think that most people realise just how little chance the 22-weekers have and how many health troubles await the 30-weekers. I hope all goes well for them, but it just does not look good. God or no God.
off topic, but how was the writing course??
Kinuk - both sets definitely have an uphill battle. It really sets me off when this happens; it's hard for me to see it as anything but irresponsible on the Dr.'s part though without knowing the details that's of course just a judgement on my part.
Jessica - I've been meaning to email you.
