Boys and their cars....

I read your Swiss German vs English post and laughed. Living in Toronto with an english speaking daddy, I tend to stick to mostly english too...but...my toddler uses Swiss words in his sentences.

Sandäleli (sandals)
Händli wäsche (wash hands)
kaputt (broken)
abegheit (fall down, as in an item fell down)
etc...

Yeah - it helps to know that small boy says that the man has "bang" (pain) and that the ambulance picks him up - getting the ambulance, the police and the fire truck there to pick up the man certainly has it's origin in the "event) (see J's link to the earlier post). He seems to cope with it quite well though and I think that playing like this and reconstructing the scene helps him better "understand" it. Let's hope so.

Children reconstruct significant events in play...he's definitely processing, but like R said, he wasn't that seriously affected...thankfully!
