Request for help

Could any of my readers out there recommend a children's book about bringing home a new baby? I'd like to find a picture book for the Small Boy to start helping him getting his head around the idea. It's becoming impossible to hide this pregnancy for much longer (yeah, at 18 weeks it looks like the jig is up, imagine that) so it's time to start helping Small Boy figure all this out. I'd prefer titles in English, but if there are good German books out there those would be welcome too.

Our favorites have been "I'm a Big Brother" by Joanna Cole, "My New Baby" by Annie Kubler, and "Hello Baby" by Lizzy Rockwell.

I don't know any but I hopefully you can find the right ones. Look on Amazon and then I guess see if the title is available in your area, if Amazon does ship overseas it is probably very expensive.

I second the Joanna Cole suggestion. We have her "My Big Girl Potty" book, which is an everyday must-read for my daughter at the moment. I'm also pregnant (10 wks) and plan on buying the big sister version.

Another vote for "Hello Baby" here. Only trouble with it is that in my hormonal pregnant state I used to get al weepy whilst reading it!

Thank you! Looks like Hello Baby and I'm a Big Brother are going in the Amazon shopping cart.

Junebee - by the time I've paid the premium for English titles in Switzerland, ordering from Amazon turns out the cost about the same (sometimes less) even with the shipping. Your comment has given me an idea for a post...

What about 'Angel in the Water'? It's a bit religious (the unborn baby talking to its angel before it's born), but I recently read it aloud to my little cousin and she seemed to like it. But it's not specifically a 'bringing home new baby' book. There was a very good one my parents read to me before my little brother was born, if I can find the name of it, I'll post it here. And mega-congrats on Little Second!:D I found your blog a few days ago through a friend of mine and (being orderly in the small things) started reading from the beginning!
All the best!
