R., this morning: "I'm looking forward to the holidays."
Me: "What for??"
R: "I won't have to go to work."
Me: "Oh, well I don't really get days off so it'll all just be the same for me."
Yeah, can't you just feel the Christmas spirit around here?

Sorry you're feeling like this. Things have been so tough for you lately. I hope you are able both to enjoy some simple pleasures over the holidays and to be kind to yourself.
You make a fine existential point though. My mother-in-law made the same point about retirement once. ;-)
That's what sucks about parenting - no vacation, no holidays and no sick days. Plus the pay's lousy!
i'll say it again...i feel your pain....
Junebee, I agree that the hours suck, but I have to say, my pay rate is pretty good.
